Introduction of First Mount

  • On the south band of Huaishui, First Mount, originally named Nanshan Mount, is also called Duliang for its abundant output of Duliang vanilla, which is also known as Xu Yi, the ancient county. In 1097, the famous painter Mi Fu went to his post along the Bianshui River from Bianjing (today Kaifeng city), the capital of Song dynasty. When he entered, seeing the gorgeous Nanshan Mount, he involuntarily makes a poem: "Travel for a long distance, The boat bows out the good sights, Whatever the time changes, The First Mount always exists." He then wrote down the words of first Mount. Hereby, the Nanshan Mount changed its name into First Mount.
